Today, to cut the Sunday boredom I decided to install the Climatronic with the matchind DM buttons and windscreen heating (still haven't had it installed, but it's coming, there's already 3 big holes in my current one).
Got it in place, turned on the key, and a familiar word appeared on the climatronic screens…

I remember seeing these on MQB climatronics and thought that was something exclusive to those people, and suddenly it appears in my hands. Did some searching and found nothing, so I decided dig further.
After changing coding to my old one, I noticed the OFf letters disappeared, so that confirmed it had to be something in coding, and after some messing around I found that these reappear by changing Byte 00 to 05, none of the others have the words, only this one.
Then, another problem appeared, when coding I had the sequencial LEDs for blower fan speed in the center rolling button disappear when in "Auto" mode (in manual there they were), and with rtjc's help I was able to get them back (by unticking Bit 07 on Byte 03)
So when I had the OFf letters active, the LEDs stopped appearing in Auto, even with the Byte03-bit07 unticked. So I go back and forth and found that when in "OFf" mode there's no speed LEDs when in "Auto" mode, despite the other bytes unchanged, and when using any other (02, 06, 07, etc) I had the LEDs but not the OFf letters.

So now I decide to go with the speed LEDs, I think they're better information to know at a glance than OFf words, If you don't see anything in the screens, it already means it's off.
Edit: Tried with 3AA panel and it works.
Edit 2: Not working on my current 3AA panel. Hold for more news.

For some reason does not accept coding when I want to activate "off"
What's your climas reference number? I've tried on two 1K8 and both worked.
I had passat bms clima, 561
Coding is different it seems. Maybe you can find something in adaptations, in those you can change many things thorough the channels.
Thank you, very interesting. 👍 Nice work
Thank you
