Hi all. I am looking for information on swapping my M111.921 1.8 litre engine to a m111.975 2.3 kompressor or maybe m111.944 2.0 kompressor engine. I want more power in my C180 but I understand electronics may be difficult. I do not want to use a standalone ECU such as RusEFI or January ECU.
My car has Bosch ECU, I believe ME2.1 software. Can I use the engine, ECU, immobiliser etc from a CLK200 Kompressor or CLK230 Kompressor (pre facelift 1996-2000) with Bosch ECU and will it work in my car? I am finding it very hard to get any information on this engine swap. Any help is appreciated.
P.s. I cannot buy a C200k or C230k in Ireland as they are impossible to find for sale.

I have bought a donor car, a 1999 CLK200 Kompressor 193bhp. It has a Bosch ECU and should plug straight into my existing wiring loom. I'll begin the swap in the next few weeks hopefully.

Try to find donor at UK auctions — would be much easier anyway. Also, there are still some clk/slk prefacelift you can catch, but if not — find the swap with the wire attached to be on the safe side. Keep us updated, Aaron:)
It seems to be done. In order to avoid an extra action and time to achieve the result you want, the fast way I’d prefer is to purchase the kit including the engine itself 111.975 or 111.973 with its original ecu.
The other engine you mentioned 111.944 is some kind a legend. It is SOOO much difficult to find it because of market limitations for the equipped cars with this engine.
I do think you will easily find the clk or slk — auctions in the GB show these cars.
I am trying to find a cheap donor car. I have been offered a 2.3k engine, ECU brains, key and immobiliser etc from a CLK230k. I hope it will be a straight forward swap and will work with my car.
It should take you to your target. But also you may need the wire kit from that donor car.
